Altered Clipboard/Chalk board

Hello my friends, today I am going to share with you a clipboard I made. Any old clipboard will do, it does not have to be new.You are going to cover it with chalk board paint, or make your own chalk board paint. Give it several good coats letting dry thoroughly between coats. Once dry, you can decorate it to fit the project you are doing. On this one I made I added vinyl cutout of a horse head and the word notes. It was made for a customer for her to hang on her horses stall door, for vet, farrier or medication records. You could also use in the house, garage, kitchen, any place you need a note pad. My granddaughter uses her's for church gives her something to do while sitting still and quiet. SO the uses are many. Another Christmas has come and gone

Once again the Christmas Season is behind us. I hope you all had a very Merry, and blessed Christmas. Make The Cut, Vinyl and Ceramic Tiles

Good Morning, I thought I would share some tiles that I have made using my my 2 prized possessions, Make the Cut program, and my cutter.
I found this free file SCAL forum. And added my own title. It is a very beautiful image, and usually has a different emotional response from every person who receives it.

We can not leave out our Mother's..This is actually a file I purchased from My Vinyl designs website, and I added the butterflies and the woman image. The butterflies are a converted clip art image, and the woman was a free file, although I do not remember where I found this, so if this is yours please let me know so I can the credit it deserves.

One more for our Father's...A;so purchased from My Vinyl Design. The element on the bottom I added from another free file.

A beautiful verse for the Couple celebrating their Anniversary, or getting married. Also from My Vinyl Designs And the heart border I made from several elements.. I just love there files, they cut so beautifully.

How about 1 for the Motorcycle lovers out there....The cycle was a free file again from the SCAL message boards, and the title I made.

This is a beautiful sentiment, that I live by everyday.

A new and exciting wat to create, Make The Cut

Hello Crafty ones, As some of you may know, I am a huge fan of Die cuts, I love the versatility of the Sizzix and Spellbinder dies, that coupled with the embossing folders and embossing plates. That gives virtually unlimited amount of things to make, and if your anything at all like me, I keep a notepad by the computer or I use a great free program called Evernote to record all of the ideas I have seen and want to try. I also was a huge fan of the Cricut, but since money and greed became the company motto I like thousands of others have given up on the Provo company and all there other outlets in the craft industry. I worked diligently to be among the top cricut crafters, and was on a few of the DT's.SO I was a huge promoter, then came the law suits and more greed and well I no longer support them or give them my hard earned money. With all of that going on I needed to find a way to continue my Scrapping business without using those products. And I did, I first off re-discovered my love for Sizzix, Spellbinders, and CherryLynn, and so happy for that. You do not need those expensive machines and cartridges to create beautiful projects. Really you do not need that company to create anything but a smaller balance in the pocket book. And I am going to show you how.
I will admit, I do get curious about the goings on over on the cricut message boards, and every once and again I do check it out. Only to find yet more people defending the crappy customer service, the incomlete or inadequate machine releases, and so many unhappy customers,lies, and more lies, promises that never come and all this with a hefty price tag and yet you can find tons of people ready and willing to console those un-happy customers and they continue supporting the non-sense over there. I am happy to be free of that ring. They biggest complaint was with a cricut and the MTC software you could download thousands of free files from the net and cut them with your machine, which is why I purchased minr, it opened up a whole new world for all of us. PC caight wind of that and instead of embracing the situation and working with the developers they decided to take them down, and have their version of files and designing. I have been in the cricut create room and compared to the MTC or SCAL program it truly does suck.IMO.
Anywho, I can hook you up with links on this info if you so wish to find out more, and want to look for a machine that truly supports all the software out there. Its funny how the makers of even Sizzix a die based company jumped on the correct band wagon and are giving up machines to work with the free files, and the amazing software. Thats truly a leader in business who cares about ustomers and wants to keep them with great products, not a company who wants to corner the market and keep everyone in the dark and penniless. In a few short months of not purchasing cricut items I was able to save enough to but my dream machine for almost $1.000.00 as well as put my dies back into use.
So I am going to be doing projects scrapping, stamping, altered arts, mixed media and even home decor using nothing but dies and free files found on the web.

A beautiful flourish and a silhouette which is from a TTF font, which is free to use and works amazingly well on the MTC software. Such beautiful cuts.

Inspirations we all have them, need them..

In case you don't already know, this is my girl, Ms Kitty.....She is a Dunn Paint Overo, with the biggest heart possible...

Kitty loves to be spoiled, pampered and if she could would live in my back pocket...

This is Rookie, my 4year old lab, he is such a sweet dog, loves to cuddle in bed( all 90 pounds of him) and never leaves a persons side and is so gentle with the little grandkids.

Meet Ryder, Rookies full brother, this guy is also a cuddler, but a typical 2 year old, into everything and mind focused on nothing, he makes me smile and really knows how to get ones attention. He is 2and I see no signs of maturity...

They are both hunting dogs, house dogs, and available for stud service.Although they would rather play, swim, and lick one to death. No one is safe from a face washing, and gentle nudge to give up a tummy rub.

These 2 are like 2 peas in a pod, they can't do anything seperate from the other, they really are buddies...
The dogs, you will hear me refer to as the boys, and my sons just shake their heads at smile.
Rookie, Ryder and MsKitty help me adjust and deal with the empty nest. They are my crafting buddies, riding buddies, my cuddle bugs, and well MsKitty is the same but she needs live outside. I am so very lucky to have such amazing son's, and fur babies in my life, what else would one need for inspiration. I have it all, and I hope you too can find peace, joy and inspiration in your daily doing's.

Shaped Mini album with Make the Cut

Good Morning Crafty ones, Can you say, Love, Love, Love my Make the Cut program!!! It is the most amazing program out there for those of you with desk top cutters,(Silhouette,Gazelle,KNK,Cougar, Lynx and Robo's) This started out as a free shape I found on line, and look at it now.

Imported into the program, choose my chipboard and viola, with a bit of embellishing a finished mini album

There is nothing you can not do with this program and the proper cutter.

A quick and easy gift-able keepsake. (is that a real word?? lol) it is today...

I also used my other addiction/passion which are the Sizzix and spellbinders dies for some of the die cutsa few of the free files out there for the borders, and its starting to look a lot like christmas

I love Tile and vinyl projects....

I have always enjoyed all forms of crafting, and when the Vinyl came into the picture, well it was no different, jump in with both feet and run with it. Always being a person who loves inspirational stories, books and movies, it seemed a perfect fit. As you can put anything into words and add it to a mirror, a wall, a tile, a plate, well anything really.
There are a few sayings we Cowgirls live by, and will hear us saying them to one another quite often. But I have to say, this one is my all time favorite. And you do not need to be a cowgirl, it works for everyone. I ran across this saying on the internet with the cutting file attached, only thing I do not remember where or what blog it came from, so if this is your file, please let me know so the gals can go to your blog, and I can link up as well. Since cutting this, they have become very popular at the craft shows.

Gift giving is my favorite thing to do.

With Christmas upon our heels, I really get excited, excited to give the things I have made for my family and friends, neighbors, mailmen and so on. I have always loved the gifting process. SO I started thinking, the 12 days of christmas for each person on my list, once I sat down did my list and the math, holy moly, thats a lot of gifting even for a crafty one like myself. lol So that idea was quickly set aside with the hopes of starting early enough for next year.
I do enjoy taking a box of any shape or size and altering them. To fit the gift and person. And I do like how this ones turned out.

This heart shaped box is one of my favorites to make, and I do sell a lot of these. Make it for any Holiday or theme. Or just to store things in. I used my MTC program for all of the cut files. Love my MTC!!!! I never do a project without opening that bad boy up.

Thanksgiving, A time to give thanks and

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. With this being a holiday to reflect the things we are thankful for, I thought would be a perfect time for this post. With all the struggles I have had in the past 6/8 months with the physical and emotional struggles. I have had to stop and evaluate my own life. Yes, It was a struggle everyday, yes I made it. Yes I have my share of bad days, just like everyone else in the world. One of my dear friends have had some serious things to deal with, her Mother became illl with Pancreatic cancer, and it took her 3 months later, she no more than finished funeral ceremonies and a day later her husband was taken to the emergency room and after tests he was diagnosed with stomach cancer at the age of 47. She has also had some major health issues. So what gives me the right to be anything but thankful, thankful I have recovered, thankful I am still here. Thankful for everything I have in my life good and bad. So it is time to let go of the self pity, and start appreciating the things I do have. And start giving a bit of myself to people like I use to do. No more hiding out, and feeling sorry, no matter how bad one has it, there always people who have it worse. Time to dust off life and live it!
For my friend, I made her a little something to display at the funeral. Her father loved it, and it made me feel good doing it, and how nice it was to craft again. Her's a peek, and Dee if your looking down, we will miss you dearly. Fly with the angels.

So my thanks today, first of all is to my wonderful family and friends. Today is a new day, live it to it's fullest, and always be thankful it it the little things in life that make life big. I am happy to be back.Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Life's Changes

With all of the recent events that have taken place in my life none of which have been good, seem to be over. And the recovery road has been difficult to say the least. During that time I did no crafting, I had no drive, or creative sparks to work with. And again, that seems to have passed. Thank the Lord. Anyway, I am not going to go into all the hardship, as I just don't want to re- live it right now. But I am going to thank everyone for their support and prayers. It really does mean alot to me. And your prayers were heard and answered, so thank you all very much. So onto the next chapter of life.....

I am going to be making some changes to the blog, the store and in general the way I do things. I have realized many things while on my hiatus. So be sure to check back often, for some new and exciting things to come.

Hello crafty ones, hope you are all having a great week...Since the accident I have been unable to even touch crafty things, and have been dying to make the things I have either designed, or seen or or a file from one of my very crafty and amazingly talented designers. It's funny how some days it seems that a person has not a crafty bone in their body, how we get stuck on certain things, and have complete brain malfunctions. Then there are the times when all we do is create in our minds and cant wait to get back and put those ideas into works of art. At first I was out of it and had no idea who I was or doing, but then my mind just could not stop, I wish things happened like that all the time..lol..But it don't. So any who, I wanted to put up another post.

I had some family problems to deal with and major health problems that came up and where I went for treatment I had no access to anything they didn't even have internet. So after months of of rehab I am home and ready to regain my life and pick up where I left off...

CWC Use your stash challenge

So this weeks challenge was to use stuff from our stash of scrapbooking items, and I know we all have a stash, or as in my case, several separate stashes...

So I took an old Captain Crunch box, and a bunch of different embellishments and a few material stickers and put together this cascade album.. The ceral boxes are so nice to use for these type of projects, or for tag art, so please remember that when you tear them up for the recycling center...

These particular flowers are from the very first tin I ever purchased, and honestly they are great, I just must have forgot about them, because I really do like them. The importance of rotating your supplies....lol

I just adore Easter Bonnets, Chocolate Bunnie's, Easter Basket's, and Big beautiful Lillies...So I thought I would combine a couple of these things to make myself a 3-D Easter Bonnet Table display...

This is what the Bonnet's look like after they are cut and assembled...Then all you need to do is embellish them..

This is the inside or the front of the Bonnet...Around the inner brim I cut some petals and made them into beautiful Lillies..On the back of the Bonnet, I just made a title "Easter Blessings" mounted it into an Easter Egg....

So here is what my final project looks like....I used alot of glimmer mist to make the Lillies glisten, stickles around the hat borders, and just had a lot of fun making this beautiful bonnet....

Cooking with Cricut Challenge...Water.. Mini Album

Hello crafty ones, this weeks challenge was ro create something with water or rain drops being the main focus..Si I have created this cute mini album.. It was designed in the Cricut Design studio, and on the Gypsy...I used the sand pail image from Life's a beach, welded the handle to the pail, then welded the sand onto the top of the pail enlarged it and the pail became the book base and pages...

once you have all the pages cut properly, you can then go back and cut the paper for each page, and then begin the fun part.Embellishing!..I used Embossing folders so one handle was de-bossed and the next would be embossed, used my ink pads to color them and give dimension. I used ranger distress inks for the sand dunes and then sprayed glimmer mist to give the sand that diamond like sparkle that the beaches have...I also used little buttons shaped like sea shells and star fish to put into the sand. I think it turned out pretty well, and I do so love to make mini albums,,,Below are the rest of the photos, if you would like the cut files just leave me a message on here and I will get it to you...

All of the die cuts in this mini album are from the Life's a Beach Cartridge...

Today I received

What a wonderful day, what a wonderful Sons, and what an amazing gift...Some of you may remember last year at this time my oldest Son had purchased my a big fancy brand new desktop..Well today the same Son gave me a nice big brand new fancy pants laptop..I am so blessed to have such wonderful son's. So because I can, I spent this cold rain and sleet filled day on the couch, with my fuzzy slippers, warm blankets and coffee and my new laptop...oh ya...life is good...I spent most of the day playing and setting it up and installing all my programs, and just having fun. No real work was accomplished here today..

This is my first official post for the FileKutz Creative Team...You can find the BLOG and the STORE on the links..
I used the Sweet Baby Boy/Girl cutting file...These files come in a variety of formats allowing you the freedom to cut with most popular cutters on the market today...So stop by and check out LisaJane's amazing store, you too will soon become a fan of her wonderful work.
This is a lyout of my sweet new Grandson, Chase, who was born 1/11/2011....

I also used Martha Stewart for the border punch....Embellishing it further with stickles from Ranger/Tim Holtz...The flowers are Prima, and the paper is from DCWV's Kids stack.

The cutting files are so easy to cut, and go together so perfectly, All of the hard work is done for you, you just cut, embellish, and adhere to your project. Scrapbooking and Crafting Friends Design Team

Hello Crafty Ones, I hope you are all having a great day. Today is my first official post for the Scrapbook and Friends DT...We were given some amazing files to work with in the form of Digi STamps, and back ground papers. Well being not to smart on how to digi scrap I decided to stamp the stamps and turn them into cut files.. The digi set was designed by Revidevi from My graphico..HERE

My project this time was another altered canvas, this one is a Birthday gift...
Anyway, I turned the digi stamps into cut files and used them as die cuts on my canvas...

Big News, Happy News.....

Hello crafty ones, hope you are having a great week...It has been a bit crazy here..As it started to rain, then went to freezing drizzle, then turned to snow on Tuesday night, and has just stopped about 1AM this morning, and we again have almost 2 feet of new snow. Just last week we had 50 degrees, seen green grass and 98% of our winter had been melted away. So back to a deep freeze with again temps in the teens. But even that can not dampen my excitement.
We all are very dedicated in what we do, and we all have an end goal. We also take great pride in the things we do, we are willing to help when needed, and share what we have learned. And I am proud to be a part of a community or group of people like this. Be it a scrapbooking forum, a blogging group, or just a new friend we have made.
I love being a part of Melin's group and being on her D.T. with such amazing ladies. And hope to continue here for a long time any way I can.

But I am also going to be joining the Scrapbooking & Crafting Friends Design Team...You can find them here... It is going to be quite a challenge for me, as they work very little with cut files, but more so with digi stamps and digi kits of papers and things. SO I have proudly taken on that challenge. And am now a part of their team. I am looking forward to learning and creating with another scrapbooking tool. SO I hope you digi scrappers give em a look...Have a great day

CWC Challenge 22 Lions and Lambs

.New cutter in my very near future

I absolutely, adore Melin, her amazing artistic talents, beautiful files, and stunning layouts, I am so very pleased to be a part of her Team of designers on CWC. And am looking forward to possibly being even a small part of her PCW blog. I love the ability to use the svg files and digi stamps in my own scrapbooking adventures. And am forever grateful to all the blogs and stores that give away and sell their time consuming hard work in making these files. It again allows me to spread my wings, and create things I never thought were possible. SO a big thank you to all the blogs, and stores that allow us the ability to express ourselves. Thank you.. Cricut Made hall of shame for copyright and trademark abusers

It really is a sad sad thing, that this is happening, to those of you who have emailed me, I have answered each to the best of my ability, I do love my machine, and it is not the machine's fault, I am just choosing to go with a machine and a company who support the fact I may have my oen creative process and want to explore that outside of the PC family. Makers of other machines embrace these 3rd party softwares and it makes good business to all involved. I will continur to use my machine untill I am able to purchase a new machine.... If you still would like my files I will gladly pass them on, just be aware there are not going to be new ones. Still there are over 300 so plenty of them to go around. I just want the ability to make my own decisions as to what I can and can not do with the products I have purchased.
MTC or SCAL users do not have the ability to cut cartridge based images, there are no steeling of any images, and as the rest of you we do not have the ability to cut from a cartridge that we do not own even with 1 of these programs, so whoever is telling you this is in fact a liar. The link I have included is pretty interesting reading regarding Trademark and Copyright abusers and whats allowed and not allowed. And just how PC themselves are breaking the rules to benefit them. So I understand your concern and sympathize with you, I just choose to use a machine I purchase the way I want to...I really am sorry for those PC users that are not taking the time to really find out what these 3rd party software makers have given us the ability to do. And as I stated before, my purchases have not stopped with PC I have still continued to buy cartridges, mats, blades and was going to buy the E2. But thats has changed, it is still my right to what I please and spend my money how I want to. I am in fact very sad that PC has not embraced these companies like every other maker of desk top cutters have done. Since this has happened they can't keep machines in stock. Sad really PC will not take the time to listen to their customers and what they want. So if you are again coming here to bash me, go ahead, I can take it, I am just really sad that no ones really bothered to ask before the beat down...This is hopfully my last post on this...It is time to move on in whatever direction each of has chosen. If you want to stay loyal, that is your choice, I hold it against no one. We all have to decide for ourselves. With that said I hope everyone has a great weekend and goes back to creating....

Announcement from Andy and Ann, MTC creators

Announcement From Andy and Ann......
As you may be aware, Provocraft, the makers of the Cricut brand cutting machines, had a lawsuit against Andy, the man who developed the Make the Cut! Software. The lawsuit was recently settled, and Andy has now posted this statement:

"Effective immediately Make The Cut! will no longer be compatible with the Cricut"

Now that I have said that...

We will continue to support:
Anything that has nothing to do with Provo Craft and Novelty, Inc.

This includes, but is not limited to:

* Black Cat Cougar and Lynx
* Boss Kut Gazelle
* USCutters MH/LaserPoint Series
* Craftwell eCraft
* Any cutter machines that support HPGL printing (Craft ROBO, Silhouette, etc)
* And many more to come in the near future :)

If you use Make the Cut with your Cricut and you wish to continue to do so, it is very important that you do not update your Make the Cut! software. Any updates that are done now will be without the Cricut drivers. If you do not update, you will still be able to use your current version of Make the Cut with your Cricut. It is unfortunate, however Make the Cut! is such a great program already you're still ahead of the game.

If you own one of the other cutters listed, you are in luck as other companies have been working with Andy to make sure Make the Cut! is compatible.

Cricut VS. Crafters

Wow, I am sure like myself many of you have been following this law suit with Cricut and SCAL and MTC. Or perhaps you have heard about it on another board or blog. Cricut and MTC have settled and effective immediately, Cricut has again taken away options from the consumer.
I personally have enjoyed my C***** products, but I have to say PC has put myself and alot of others in a bind, taking away my rights as a consumer. Since my purchase of MTC I have personally not stopped my cartridge purchases, and have even increased my mat and blade purchases, and since I loved and used my DS all the time I was able to increase what I can achieve as a crafter. but PC does not want that. They want us all to stay with them exclusive, threaten voided warranties, and such, I wonder if the cuttlebug warranty voids if we use sizzix, or spellbinders? or the new Darice emboss folders they are promoting on the C message boards...You can't have your cake and eat it to. I will be using my PC product untill my new machine arrives. I have so many mixed feelings about this, like so many of us do. I am including some links for you all and one of them is pretty interesting reading regarding copyrights and trademarks, and it seems a lot of big companies use that to scare us little crafters, I am sure you all will love this article.
For those of you with the CriCrap machine, if you do not update your firmware, or MTC program everything will remain the same for you at this time anyway, the new MTC is not going to support the cricrap, butif you check the MTC message board there is a list of machines there.
There are a select few over on that message board that are the choosen, they are the ones being lavished with the products, and you can bet as long as the payout holds out so will their loyality.
I am choosing to not give them anymore of my hard earned money, and you all have to make your decisions. I am not saying dump everything at a loss, it is not the machines fault, but I wont purchase anything else with their name, cartridges, nothing...And when my machine dies a new cougar will gladly take its place. You may vice your opinions concerns, or comments, but if you are in support of cricrap do not come here..This is my opinion, and my right. I will also continue to give help and support where needed. SO untill my machine takes a dive I will love the machine but hate the company and what it stands for.

Cricut and paper piecings

Hello Crafty Ones, this is a little project I made using my cricut, the New Arrival cartridge my Silhouette, a paper piecing pattern for the Bear. little bit of ink and chalking, a few sprinkles of stickles. Altered 8x8 Scrapbook album

Another 8x8 scrapbook I re-did, all they have to do is add there own scrapped pages... I really like making these albums, there are so many possibilities when doing these, it is hard to stay focused on just one at a time...And the perfect size for beginners, not to big and overwhelming, or perfect when there are not alot of photos....

Just a thought, and a challenge.....

Hello crafty ones, this is shaping up to be quite a week...A week of ups and downs....
First of all I had a friend or mine come to buy a few Sizzix dies, and I was actually impressed because way back when I started out I would see a new product and think, boy i want that, look at what it can do. So I bought the product, and then others followed, and it continued into a snowball of a quite massive size. I think we all buy things with good intentions of using them. But some where some become more of Die or stamp or paper or whatever collectors, and less of actually using the product. I am so guilty of that.
I started out with Sizzix, and it fast became where I wanted it all even if I did not use it. I had to have the whole sets, of everything, and then it just accumulated. I have literally thousands upon thousands of dies, probally 75 font sets the embossing folders, I have a lot of stuff!.. I still use my dies, and love my dies, do use them as much as I should...no! Some I have never used. What impressed me the most was Elizabeth said to me, wow, this is a lot, but I want to get dies that I will use more than once, and that work with the other's I have. She is so far ahead of most beginner crafters.
I really do have a lot of product I will never use, and the dies I will never part with, well the doubles I will part with..
So here's a challenge to all of you who know exactly what I am talking about...
Take a set of dies, or stamps, or a cartridge, and use the same images in a minimum of 2 different projects...The winner will receive a special gift from me...
So I am choosing to use my Sizzix dies...
the Train and the wagon as my base pieces....And as you see I made a 3x12" Easter border for a scrapbook page..

Hello Crafty ones, I apologize for posting a bit late.. this week's challenge was to do a project representing Spring forward, and to use a time piece of some sort....so this is a plain old 8x8 scrapbook from the craft store that I altered the front and back and cover. Cartridges used is Base camp, Graphically Speaking, Home Decor.... Added some lace, some stamping, inchies, embossing, and it looks not like a store bought album. The possibilities are endless...Have a great day everyone, we again are in the grip of a snow storm and I am not sure how long the power is going to stay on....

Here come's trouble, Luke

Just a quick little project, this is a 8x8 album you buy from H.L. they come with plain old red or green covers, so being a person who can never leave well enough alone I just did a bit of tweaking. The Craft Shows are starting soon, and I sell tons of these, I usually go buy everything they have, and do them all with different themes. This one is for my friend and her Son, who is to say the least a HANDFUL! Sorry Mindy, but when you look up the definition of trouble, there is a picture of your Luke....lol, Have a great day crafty ones

A tribute to Bogie

I feel like the saddest person around today. I was informed by my Friend and her husnabd that this day was the day their beloved yellow Lab, Bogie had to be put to sleep. He(Bogie) had been ill for awhile, but would get better, and go back and forth like that, but today was the day the good Lord choose to have him come home.
Know Bogie, was a local celebrity ha was on planets funniest animals, and the star at the golf course my friends own. He was always entertaining the golfers, their kids, and himself. If things slowed down a bit he would go catch himself a huge fish from the river that runs parallel to the golf course, nuzzled the kids, played catch. He was the Icon at the Golf Course.
When we choose to love animals, and let them into our lives, we are setting our self up for heart ache, as we know they do not live as long as we do. And yet we take that chance and open our hearts to their love. I am thankful that we do. What would life be like without our beloved pets? Mine would personally be empty.
This is going to be very hard for my friend and her husband, as Bogie was with them 24/7 literally. As hard as it is to go on, we each find a way. So Dan, Sandy, you know I love you both, and Bogie was like my own. I hope you can find peace knowing he is safe, and pain free, playing on the bridge. I made this memorial for you to hang where ever you like. It is from my heart to yours....

This is a canvas I made for hanging on the wall...
1....Start with a canvas whatever size you wish to use, now you can prime it with Gesso, or you may leave it as it is, most them are primed and ready for paint.
2....Gather acrylic paints to match the photos.
3....Assorted brushes
4....Files for flowers, and the title
5....Stickles
6....Cricut, 50 states cartridge, Home Accents cartridge, Home Decor Cartridge
7....MTC files for title, and rolled roses, (small)
8....Strong adhesives
9....Embellishments and whatever else you may want to use...
Start by painting the canvas, once you have it the way you want it, let it dry....While this is drying you may start cutting and making flowers, titles, and other embellishments.
Once you have everything the way you like it, make your master piece however you like. If you would the cut files please leave a comment and an email so I know where to send them.

Just a thought .....Free Files

Hello everyone, I have been receiving emails from a few different bloggers and followers. All asking about free cutting files. The only way for me to get you all the files you wish to have is to make a list...So in the comment field, leave your name, email, and what types of files you are looking for, and the file type. The files I have available to you are...GSD/SVG/MTC/DESIGN STUDIO/GYPSY... Most cutters can import SVG's so that may be the most popular. I am also compiling a list of the files I have on hand and that I am able to share, also making a list of other places where you can get files. So please be patient, and in the comment section leave me your lists.
And for those of you with the cricut, if you do not design studio, you can still download the software, and have every feature available to you as the paid version, except it will not cut. But you can see images from every cartridge, and remember to think outside the box when creating your own files. Cooking with cricut challenge Double Take.

Good Morning crafty ones, so today is the CWC challenge day. And the challenge was to use 2 pattern papers and 2 embellishments. So with the challenge being all about 2's I thought why not...
Seeing I love and adore my 2 yellow labs, and there are 2 of them, and challenge is about 2's..How could I resist in showing off the 2 biggest babies in the world. Both studs, both around 80+ pounds, and both full brothers. They are the sweetest, kindest, most gentle dogs. And always give that look. They do everything together, and always have to be touching..SO my layout this week for the challenge is of my pampered pooches, Ryder, and Rookie

The papers are from the DCWV pet stack, the paws, and dots. As you can see the embellishments are water/food bowls as flower centers, and even fire hydrants.. More hand made flowers. I think I have a sick obsession for flower making. Just added their names and 2 little paper piecings.

Altered Letters

What a week............

I know I am not the only one who those days just seem to never end...
We had that large snow storm on sunday and monday last week, just when the green grass was peeking through. So that was ever so sad, my computer was still not fixed, and to top that off my husband came home from work and said he had thrown his back out. He could hardly even move, so that left me with all the 13" of snow to move. Then on Tuesday morning I got a frantic call from my friend where I board my horse, Ms Kitty, and she said she was sick was has a BAD case of colic, colic is like a twisted stomach, and at least half the time can be fatal, so I was on barn duty, nursing a sick mare back to health. As I was sitting in the barn praying for things to get better, I decided to put in a thank you, as the back injury could have been way worse, and I easily could have lost my dear Ms Kitty. SO I was thankful in having the chance to save 1 of my most prized possessions. I have had so many great times with Ms Kitty, and we have been through a lot together. I would be lost without that loving face and big heart to love. So I am happy to say, she has pulled through, and is going to be fine. So I thought I would share some photo's of Ms Kitty with everyone.
Ms Kitty is an Overo Paint mare, and is the most quiet, sweet and loving horse. She has more personality than most people, and loves Chocolate muffins.

She will even allow you to dress her up and put on lip gloss, earrings, clip on of course, she wears ball caps, bandanas, and what ever else one wants to try on a horse...

She is amazing when we go to jack pots and other rodeo events. Can normally find her tied to the trailer sleeping or begging food off the people passing by..

This is Kitty's best friend, Cowgirl...She is a grey Quarter Horse..These 2 go and do everything together..Both are amazing.

As you can see here, I have something hanging from my mouth, well it is Kitty's Pixy Stick, those little tubes of sugar. She loves them, and after each new completed task, she gets her pixy treat...

Then there's the times, when she is stubborn as a mule. And decides it is too hot and she can not possibly take another step. So I end up waiting on her to decide it's not so bad. I am in such hurry for Spring to get here, there's nothing better than the smell of a horse and leather, well I guess if you like that sort of thing. Looking forward to a quiet week this week. Fingers crossed

I am almost there..And the winner is ???

As you may or may not know, I was infected with a horrible virus, the technicians said that usually when a computer is damaged that badly there is no saving it, but they did a wonderful job by remote access, and fixed me up good as new. And I did not loose anything. I was ever so happy. But being down and out of the loop for 13 days has me really far behind, and trying to desperately play catch up. Well I am almost caught up... Know it is time to get back on track and not look back.

Jen, my dear Cooking with Cricut Design Team member has ever so graciously awarded me this award. Jen is such a talented paper artist, and a wonderful person, I am blown away be her talents, her spirit, and Jen's gift to give in any way she can. Thank you my friend...

5. Melissa, at Melissa's scrappen place, Melissa also a co member of the Cooking with cricut design team. Melissa has such an eye for crafting, she makes amazing layouts and cards. Another talented lady with a passion for paper crafting..

Those are my choices, although I would love to give it a lot more people. These ladies are all very special to me.

The hardest part is telling 5 things you do not know about me.

1. I have the most generous, handsome, and loving Sons a Mother could ever want. They are my world.

2. I train and breed Labs for Duck/Goose/pheasant hunting. My 2 studs are the biggest babies in the world. When men come to buy hunting dogs they are surprised to see a woman doing all the training, and breeding. I love it.

3. I also Train my own horses, and compete in Rodeo's doing Barrel racing and pole bending. I love my horse, Ms Kitty, she is more human than most people are. And demands a chocolate muffin, a hug and a smooch before any work can take place.

4. I love to teach others to paper craft, and donate my time and supplies to 4-h groups, Girl Scouts,church groups, nursing homes, anyone who wants or needs to do an activity. I also hold free crops and classes from beginner to advanced and even cricut/gypsy/inkscape/Design studio and MTC classes

5. I am trying to open an actual store front scrap store in my town. We have no place to shop unless we travel at least 40 minutes.

Cooking with cricut challenge swirls and twirls

Good day crafty ones, have I told you all how happy I am to be back!! I know I am late, and I apologize for being late, but better late than never, this is my entry for this weeks challenge, Swirls and Twirls...I know it is nothing spectacular, and working with no computer, no cutting programs, just a stand alone cricut, was a tall order for me. And I have never been so lost in a creative process before, and I hated it. I have realized several things in the last 10 days.
1. I come to heavily depend on my computer, the amazing programs out there, and
2. I have completely come to depend on the cutters, the programs, and the talented file creators out there, and
3. My life basically stopped and was in complete turmoil without my computer.
4. I missed all of you so very much, and seriously had blog withdrawl symptoms.
I realized I still had my gypsy to work with, which has been seriously forgotten about, but with the help of my little old cricut, my cartridges, some extra creativity, and this is what I came up with. I have never fully appreciated the paper artists who do beautiful work, and without the help of technology, so I think that in itself deserves a standing O. And I for one an envious of you crafty ones. SO with that said, and a renewed outlook on technology, I love my techie gadgets, and my online friends, please dont ever take them away again from me. lol

Cooking with Cricut Embossing Challenge

Hi Ladies, please forgive for posting this late. I got a bad virus/spy ware from opening a PDF document, not sure how the heck that happened but it got in right past my McAfee. So I am at a friends house right now using her computer, as I feel horrible for not being on time.
This little cutie is my Granddaughter when she was just a few weeks old

Any way, so anyway, this weeks challenge was embossing. So I pulled out my stylus, my light box, wax paper, and the template I wanted to use, and hand embossed the background paper my self. Yup, no embossing folders, no machines to do it for me. Once I had the embossing done, I got my baby wipes, my distress inks, and colored and shaded the paper till I was happy with the out come, also took a small mister bottle, and wet all around the paper, and scrunched it all up till I was satisfied with the texture. Then Hit it with the heat gun till stiff. After all of that I took the embossing powders, and gold emboss powder and just did a hit and miss around the edges. So there is hand/dry embossing and heat embossing.
One would think after all the flowers I hand made for the blog hop I would be sick of making them, but oh no, I had to cut out more, hand emboss them, ink em and add them to this page as well. It was fun, doing things the old way again...

This is a Paper Mache neart shaped box from Hobby Lobby, all I did was recover it with pretty papers, Lace, and more flowers, then tuck in an assortment of Goodies,

Sweet Shop Blog Hop ...It's Today....

Welcome to Paper Creations and the CookingWithCricut.com Sweetshop Blog Hop! So this is one of my projects.....

This is a basket of flowers, perfect for anyone, or just table decorations...

First to make the basket you need a 12x12 piece of heavy card stock, Then you will need to use your scor-pal and score in both directions at 4" and 8" so you end up with ((9)) 4" squares. Next on 2 opposite sides cut to center score, this will allow you to bring up sides and shape into basket. Then just decorate as you want to. These baskets can be made smaller, but not larger. Just be sure to keep the dimensions.

.Next I took a 2 1/2" wide strip of paper, and using Martha Stewart border punch I punched both side, added a second strip of white and attached as the handle, added a few rose blooms to the top of the handle.

Next step

Glued some lace around the basket, added a floral piece of foam to the inside to hold my flowers, and your good to go.

Then it is time to start making those oh so wonderful flowers... I have used all the flower files from our trusty leader, Melin, and all her little tips for making beautiful flowers... You can find that info HERE.

Once the flowers were all rolled and arranged, I made some cute paper piecings, also designed by Melin, and those files are available HERE .

Next I cut a Love U bingo card, and also added to my flower basket.... And that's about it...

Cooking with Cricut Challenge, Hearts and Flowers

Good Morning crafty ones, It is Wednesday, and we know what that means....It's time for the Cooking with Cricut Challenge, and this week it is all about Hearts and Flowers... With Valentine's Day upon us, and Spring not far off, it is the perfect challenge...

This is a card I have made, and the flowers well I will explain more about them later...The card was cut on the cricut and designed to cut with the program MTC..

Monday Morning Madness

Well isn't today a wonderful day??? A nice start to a week. The Packers are due to hit the Green Bay airport at 3pm today, the parade through downtown Green Bay, and ending at the stadium for a party... I am going to have to miss that today, but will be sure to watch on tv. I have been working on 4 seperate projects this week, that will work together with the Blog Hop that is scheduled for this weekend with Cooking with Cricut. It is going to be AMAZING!!!! Every blog along the hop will have prozes, and other fun give a way's. And each blog will have a new project for each day, love is the theme this week for the challenge and the blog hop, I am very excited and will be bringing you some really cool projects. And the other designers will have amazing projects and give a way's as well.... SO with that said, I am odd to work, to finish my projects. With one last word...take that Brett((WHO)) Favre!

Super Bowl Day...

Hey crafty ones, well excitement to share, our beloved Packers made it once again. Being only about 30 + minutes from Green Bay, the town is absolutely c-R-A-Z-Y.... I can normally hold my excitement untill game time, but I just cam back from town, and the mood there is catching on. I have been working on a little something, but can not seem to be able to concentrate long enough to get it done.
As some of you may know, I am a huge altered arts junkie, and love to make the torso tags, wings, the DaVinci Pear, and mermaids...So I tried something new..Have a look at the tags and let me know what you think

SO how I made these is, I took a tan sheet of 8 1/2 x 11" card stock, baby wipes, and brightly colored inks. coloring my card stock with the inks and wipes untill I was happy with the sheet. Let dry, and then random stamping all over the sheet, I used vintage/zetti stamps. Let dry,. Loaded the paper into my Silhouette cutter, choose the images and cut them out, so each piece is very random as to the images. Once cut remove from sticky mat, and then sprayed them with the Tattered Angels glimmer mist. Again let dry and they are ready to use, or store them for another day. I normally fill the entire sheet so the whole sheet cuts out. Why cut just one. That way when I need one I have several in all sizes. And as long as you have the inks and wipe why not make 1 big mess. You can also do this with flowers or any image really. For those of you using the Cricut I found it works just as well, but I then use the smooth card stock instead of textured, as the inks really don't get into the little nooks and crannies of the textured papers. If anyone would like some of these cut drop me a line and I will be happy to send you some of each design.

hand made prima look alike

Hello Crafty ones, today I just could not help myself, I have been in the mood for flower making. So this file is modeled after the lg prima's.. I choose a stamp set from StampinUp and stamped the tops of the flowers, then I scored lines in the petals, all thats left is a pretty center, some greens and to be added to your project. And you can cut these in any color combo that suits the project you are making. STack as high as you like, there are no rules, and they are beautiful once completed.

Cookimg with Cricut, Challenge Ground Hogs salute

Welcome to the Cooking with Cricut Challenge "Ground Hog's salute" This weeks challenge was to complete a project with a shadow. So on this layout, I created a background paper using my Cricut design studio, the cartridge, school book, accent essentials, live struck, home decor, and storybook. The flourishes also are shadowed. I living here in the mid west, and waking up this morning to over a foot and half of snow in the last 36 hours with 40MPH winds am sure the ground hog is in no hurry to make his appearance.
The photo is of our Sweet Granddaughter Adrianna. I love this photo of Anna, she is a living doll..

As you can see, the flourishes are shadowed, as is Adrianna's sweet little face with the heart prop used at the photo shoot.

Its A Boy, Baby Banner

Hey crafty ones, I was going to submit this for the Cooking with Cricut design team challenge under layers this week, cause I do have many many layers on each banner piece. But decided against it. So here is a Baby Banner I finished this week, for my friend's neice who is due in Feb

The first part of the banner "It"s was not done in traditional colors, as per New Momma's request..Using twistel, unraveling it and making custom bows this is the first part of the Banner....

Letter A, also same color theme, and the twistel with custom hanging ability..

The word "BOY" is also done from the rest of the sign, allowing Momma to hang it how and where ever she wishes.
This was done using my cricut, the cartridges, Birthday Bash, New Arrival,and Base Camp a paper trimmer a heavy duty adhesive, inks, pens, and twistel.

First cutting the banner shapes from chipboard, then from cardstock, this is Nana's kids, from DCWV. Then cutting a smaller layer with printed card stock, layered them together. Know, taking my paper trimmer, and cutting strips 1 1/2" x 12" and scoring at every half inch then folding mountain and valley, forming the layer that goes under the words. Use a heavy adhesive as this will need to be very sturdy. Using a hot glue gun, I attached it to the banner base.
For the next step I choose to use base campfor the letters, and layering them on top of a also layered base, which gets attached to the paper rosettes you hot glued. Then with the twistel string the letters how ever you like them to be, make some bows, and I even hung charms and baby booties from the bows. And thats it...Nothing to it. You can then go ahead and add all the personal touches you choose to...

I finally did it!!!!

Oh man, I finally did it.............I purchased MTC and let me tell you it is so much easier than SCAL. Registered the code, opened a design, turned on my cricut, and hit the cut button, and 10 seconds later i had perfectly cut pieces. No problems with anything. I can not nelieve I have waited so long. Don't get me wrong, I love my cricut and design studio, and adore my Gypsy, and My silhouette is a dream. But this program is like a miracle.
These are my very first cuts, and I have a new love.....

Know if I could convert my 20,000 GSD files I would be a happy happy girl....*´¨) ¸.•-:¦:-♥•*´¨

I really love making the clear albums, you have no limits and actually opens up for unusual techniques. This one is titled all about me. Hope you like it....

This particular acrylic album I did a mix and match, I used some round scalloped pages, and some square scalloped pages and just rotated them. Used binder rings, and used a ton of ribbon to hide the rings.

Cooking with cricut flowers blog challenge

happy Wednesday everyone. I so look forward to Wednesday's, cause it is the big challenge reveal over on cooking with cricut. HERE. Where is if you link a project to the blog you could win as every week Melin has a great give away...
Well this week we had to use flowers, now I am a flower addict. I have them everywhere, but with the challenge of using flowers, I thought well why not, I am always admiring the handmade paper flowers everyone makes, they are just so beautiful. So I decided to try and make some flowers, now let me tell you, I usually pick up the mechanics of things fairly easy, then because of my anal ways, I have to continue to do the technique untill I feel I have it mastered, well to master these little creations are near impossible. I can not even tell you how many of these I have put together, and how many more sitting here waiting to be put together. I am not happy with them yet. But picked out a few that I actually liked.My project this week that the flowers are going is an altered canvas I am making for my friend, this a photo her prized stallion, whom they have recently lost, so this is tribute to him.

The Recipe for this canvas......
Supplies

White Canvas
Cricut machine
Pagoda cart,Plantin cart, Home accents cart and The file from CWC
assorted paper or card stock
strong adhesive
acrylic paints of assorted colors
large brush, and fan brush, baby wipes, paper towel
ink pads to match colors,
stickles to match,
smooch ink to accent
embossing powder, and embossing pad
white painters pen,
White chalk pencil
black liquid applique
sheer plus sheer silver glaze and sheer color glaze
lace, hat pin, beads, charms
Martha Stewart X-mas branch punch (((LOVE this punch, useful for a million projects)))

I used my wide Donna dewberry brush and painted black as sort of a hit and miss technique, not covering the whole canvas, then did the same with grey, and white using less of each color in random places, I wanted the canvas to look old and streaked. then before its dry I wiped across in opposite directions to blend the lines, once dry took fan brush and you can see my random black swipes. Once dry I did the same thing with the sheer glazes, these glazes give any project a soft luster finish..
Next I took a white chalk pencil and wrote my 2 phrases lightly, on the top of canvas it says, "A window to the soul" I wrote with black liquid applique over the top of the words, allowing it to dry on its own so it has a glossy satin finish. On the botton, I used a white sharpie painters pen and wrote" If God made anything more beautiful, he kept it for himself"
Once all of that is dry you are ready to move on. Adding photos and embellishments...
So I cut all my flowers in assorted colors of black and grey, some of them once cut I embossed with embossing powders to give the flower a bit more dimension and detal. And some I just white ink and stamped on top of the black flowers

gold on brown... After I had all the flowers cut and some embossed and some I left plain, I was ready to assemble them...Hours upon hours as I just was not getting it, I do believe I was making out to be harder than it needed to be. So remember that..I seen a 7 year old make these, and I could not.
I really layered and altered plain with inked or embossed flowers. And once I had them assembled I inked with black and white inks, then high lighted areas of the flowers with my smooch inks, and finally adding stickles to some of the petals. Also usin my Martha Stewart punch added branched to the flower layers.

I also love butterflies so I did cut some of those to add as well
SO once the flowers were completed I added the bling to them

So here are a few finished flowers and butterflies, keeping with the color theme I used a white on the butterflies

Cut a few flourishes, and doodled white on them as well...

These are just 10" long pieces of lace I stitched into a circle, dyed them black with my Momento ink pad, added some stickles to the ends, tucked in a hat pin with a charm and that became the bottom layer to a flower. It really turned out quite nice.

I have some really bare spots on here in the upper corners, and not sure what to do with them just yet.
SO that's it.. it looks worse than it is, and really does come together quite quickly, be sure you hop on over the CWC blog and get your cutting files, and digi stamps....

Forever Memories for you card, Cricut cut

This card I have made several times, It is so cute when it is all put together. A friend of mine, Tina, designed this card and many many others, she is truly a genius. Everything she makes is a 3-D design. She is a star of the U.K. I am so lucky to have her as a friend, She is truly amazing. What's great about Tina's files is they are able to be cut on your cricut machines, as well as all other cutters. She truly is a remarkably talented gal. Altered 8x8 Scrapbook album

This is a 8x8 scrapbook album, just a plain old cover with no decorative elements of any kind. So being that I can not let anything alone, and just am not happy unless everything is covered in paper and paper goodies, I decided to do something with these albums. These are quick, fast and easy projects to do, and the refill sheets for these are from HL by SEI. SO out came the cricut, the sizzix, the SIlhouette, some acetate, microscope slides, flowers and a few other goodies. A couple hours later and this is whet I ended up with. I love microscope slides you can do so many things with them, and slide mounts are also limitless in use. A nice background stamp or two a rub on to fill in here and there. And an instant completed album covers....

Canvas Altered....

I was emailed by a gal asking me to post pics of some altered Canvas I had previously altered. The top canvas was primed with Gesso, and then several layers of Purple, navy and turquoise acrylic paint, It is done with sort of a dry brush technique, and after each layer I would wipe the excess which also helped to blend the colors, instead of looking as if all was painted in single stripes, when that dry I double loaded my brush with turquoise and white and dry brushed the opposite direction, finishing off with a sheer silver wash. Used my cricut for the die cuts and painted those with the same technique used on the canvas. Added lace border,If you look close under the large flowers are lace flowers, I just cut a piece of lace about 3" long and gathered it to a circle and stitched it closed, then added prima flowers, crystal middles and lots of crystal flourishes, topped with a phrase and a photo of my son's friend, which this also doubled as a gift for her....

This canvas I did a bit differently, I did not prime the canvas with gesso, I left it as it was. Again using acrylic paint, this time just doing a dry brush all over and not to concerned about the blending. This canvas was more scrapped than painted. Using white paints for accents, and white rub-ons. also adding leaves and pearls from the floral dept at Hobby Lobby made a small spray to fit under the large Heidi Swapp flower. I am not sure which one I like better, I guess it all depends on what we each prefer. I am working on a black and white canvas right now and hope to have pics up by the end of weekend.
My trip to see Grandson Chase is postponed as I came down with a horrible cold and I can not be around him, so I am quite sad I will have to wait untill next weekend to love on the little guy. Have a great weekend everyone. And Sharon I hope this helps....

Meet My new Grandson, Chase Joseph..Update

Hello crafty ones, as you know on 1-11-11, my second Grand baby arrived. Shortly after his birth he was having some difficulty breathing, so he has been in the N.I.C. unit. His breathing is getting a bit better everyday, but no one is allowed to hold him, except of course for Momma. My Son went to the hospital to see his new Nephew and had a photo taken so everyone could see Chase. So this photo is my son, Uncle Keith....And of course Chase. How proud is Uncle Keith of his little Nephew. Melts my heart.. SO I have decided to take a trip this weekend to Milwaukee to see Chase, and of course the rest of my wonderful family....

I just got this pic sent from my daughter, she has been worried and standing watch over Son since his birth so it was great to finally hear from her, she was finally allowed to hold her little guy for awhile, and is starting to relax and enjoy the moment. She say's he is doing better as the hours pass, and may be taken from the N.I.C. unit tomorrow.. Thank goodness. They have such a perfect little family, and even more perfect with this blessing being added.. Having a day out at the Pumpkin Farm, Daughter Tricia, Son in law Brian, and My little Adrianna...

I am just so proud of my Family and love em to death so I thought I would share a family photo with you all. I am feeling quite sappy today...

Cooking with Cricut DT Challenge

Hello crafty ones.... So today is The reveal day for this weeks challenge on Cooking with Cricut's blog. And let me tell you there are some amazing creations to be seen. What some beautiful eye candy, and inspiration. The cutting files, and digi stamps created by our amazing leader are incredible, and you can find them HERE So for this weeks challenge I created a wintery themed bucket of goodness guaranteed to warm anyone's soul, and added to that a bunch of sparkle and what else?? Chocolate. This little pail is for a friend of mine for her Birthday next week, inside the pail is home made hot chocolate mix, marshmallows, chocolate dipped spoons, a pair of booties, a pair of mittens, and the cartridge Verry Merry tags.

Recipe Card
For this project I purchased a pail from Michaels although you could use any type of tin.
The Very Merry Tags cartridge
papers from Bo Bunny,
Lace
Lots of ribbon
Strong adhesive
Stickles in clear and silver
Lots of white glitter
Glimmer Mist DIamonds
and the hot cocoa and spoon recipes I will put at end of post.

On the bottom of the can where the snow is, I sprayed with glimmer mist, then out lined the tops of the snow with silver stickles. While waiting for that to dry, I used zip glue, and completely covered the snowflakes then added glitter, glitter and more glitter to them. Also stickles in blue on the letters. The snowman is also sprayed with the glimmer mist and attached him to pail lid. also attached several other glittered snowflakes from the ribbons on the pail's handle. I did try and spray the white ribbon with the glimmer mist as well, but unless the ribbon is completely dry, it looses the glittery look, so be careful not to handle it to much.
Know for the inside goodies....
My friend is a chocoholic, like the rest of us, or shall I most of us. So I made some home made hot chocolate and put it in sugar jars,attached directions, and added a ribbon.

Here is the recipe for the hot cocoa mix...

Ingredients

6 2/3 cups nofat dry milk powder
1 cup instant chocolate drink mix
1 (5 ounce) package cook-and-serve chocolate pudding mix
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup powdered nondairy creamer
1/2 cup baking cocoa
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS:
1 cup boiling water
baby marshmallows

Directions

In a bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place for up to 3 months. Yield: 21 batches (about 7 cups total).
To prepare hot cocoa: Dissolve 1/3 cup cocoa mix in boiling water. Top with miniature marshmallows if desired.

Know if that's enough...How about some chocolate dipped spoons to stir your hot cocoa.... And some covered pretzels, and have you ever had an oreo truffle???? OMG it is heaven!!!

Choco covered spoons, boy the possibilities are endless, how I make the spoons, is cover them with chocolate, put onto wax paper and add more chocolate onto that like a puddle, add some marshmallows and chopped candy bars or anything really. Then drizzle more chocolate over that to hold all together. It is awesome! Same with choco covered pretzels....
Oreo Truffle recipe, is decadent... The recipes is from allrecipes.com

Ingredients

1 (16 ounce) package OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, divided
1 (8 ounce) package PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
2 (8 ounce) packages BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, melted

Directions

Crush 9 of the cookies to fine crumbs in food processor; reserve for later use. (Cookies can also be finely crushed in a resealable plastic bag using a rolling pin.) Crush remaining 36 cookies to fine crumbs; place in medium bowl. Add cream cheese; mix until well blended. Roll cookie mixture into 42 balls, about 1-inch in diameter.
Dip balls in chocolate; place on wax paper-covered baking sheet. (Any leftover chocolate can be stored at room temperature for another use.) Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs.
Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. Store leftover truffles, covered, in refrigerator

How to How to Easily Dip Truffles
Place truffle ball in melted chocolate to coat; roll if necessary. Lift truffle from chocolate using 2 forks (this will allow excess chocolate to run off) before placing on wax paper.

So there you have a pail with glitter and sparkle every where, and its filled with goodies to make the longest, coldest, winters bright and cheerful. Enjoy..and Happy Birthday Jenna!

Good Morning Craft ones....Hope you all had a great weekend. Aside from being a bit busier than I have been in a long time it is starting out to be a great day. My youngest was the recipient of nail from a nail gun into his finger. the insurance company was giving me a hard time, but all turned out well, I was able to spend the morning with my dear friends DAN AND SANDY S., all their fur babies, and even spent time with the horses, it is always a great day when I get to do those things. As you know I have been lucky enough to be on the cooking with cricut design team and every wednesday if you log on to CWC;s blog you will see the new challenges and designs by our leader Melin. She works very hard creating cutting files and digi stamps for us to use and for those wishing to purchase the files they are available. So on Wednesday's all the designers reveal their creations. Sunday Morning Mojo???

Altered 12x12 Scrapbook Album

This is just a plain old album I purchased from Hobby Lobby, at half price for $5.00....Being one to never leave things just as I buy them, I had to snazzy it up. The papers are from MME, which I totally love, and then just tore them to fit the album front.

I used multiple stamps and just stamped in black about 2-3" iff the book binding. I also added family rub-ons they are the ones in the bold just to pop out a bit. I took my embossing pen and after rolling the paper adges used the pen and added gold embossing powder.

I took wire from my jewelry jig and kinked it up a bit adding beads to match as I went along the binding. The inchies were made with coordinating paper and the word Family was stamped onto each inchie.

I used the sizzix leaf border die with the same coordinated paper glued to chipboard and cut with my Big shot. making the corner flourish, and just adding a few Prima flowers here and there

added a ribbon and MM ribbin holder to add charms, and a book plate in the corner to personalize with the family name..It was quite the change from a plain black album, but a lot nicer to look at, and give as

For all of my home town friends, don't forget there is the Craft Show this Saturday at the expo, will be in my same old same old spot. 8am to 3pm. Come see what's new, and even get a free cricut lesson. I will have my machines there for you all to use. All of you CDS users, my laptop is in Milwaukee with my Son, so no CDS lessons on Saturday. WIth Christmas behind us, and the New Year in full swing, and for us here in mid-west it will be Wintery, snowy, and quite blustery through March, so how about some fun wintery, snowy projects, or perhaps, Valentine's and Love themed. Good Morning Crafty ones, hope you are all having a great day. I am so excited, honored and oh so looking forward to this year. I am one of the lucky ones to have been choosen to be a member of the Cooking with Cricut design team. These are am amazingly talented group of ladies and is quite intimidating to see there work. I will be among the greats. So the challenge was to submit a wintery , smowman fun themed project. And the project I submitted was the Mitten Album.

New Year, New Me, more fun! First Challenge.

Good Morning Crafty ones,
Well with all the excitement a New Year brings, and the thoughts of all the changes we want to make not only for ourselves but for others as well, it is easy to get lost in the possibilities. I know myself personally have set some goals, not to high, just high enough to make me work a bit harder, be a bit more creative, and to use the massive stash of supplies i have accumulated over these 4 short years. So my first challenge to you is to make a project of any kind, and use some of those long forgotten items, we all have them, we all say "Boy I should really use those" so why not. Lets use that stash up.....
Also There seems to be in my house an outrageous amount of money spent on Cricut Cratridges. And some of the older ones are great and seem to be left in the dust trail of all the new.So I thought why not have a cartridge exploration, and come up with new ways and new ideas to love those older cartridges again.

Wow, can you believe 2010 is just a memory. Some good, some not so good. With this being the most famous day for setting new goals(prefer that to resolutions) for ourselves, as well as breaking the new goals, I am no different. I have a few goals, a few surprises, and some news to ring in the New Year. Which I will be sharing with you all in just a few days. Have to make sure my P's and Q's are in place first.
