Day 14 of 24 days of Christmas Project 15

 Here is just a plain old glove box. You can take any old box you have and cover it with a pretty Christmas paper add some bows from wire rimed organza ribbon, attach some jingle bells or decorative charms or buttons and you are all set to go. And I know obviously you all have thought of this already, but believe it or not I have never done that. I have been stuck in the Christmas wrapping mode with traditional papers and ribbons. I can not believe it has taken me this long, oh well, I won't be reverting back to that again any time soon.

Day 13 of 24 days of Christmas Project 14

Hello Crafty ones...This is just a plain old clean take out box. I used foiled cardstock the label is from the lacy labels cricut cartridge, and the back and sides are punched using a martha Stewart deep border punch. All I have to do now is add some wax paper to the bottom, then some pretty tissue paper, fill with goodies tie some ribbons or bows to the handle and you have an instant gift for someone. I filled with dipped oreo's, choco covered pretzels, cookies of all kinds, some hot cocoa mix, and plastic spoons dipped in chocolate to stir your hot cocoa with. poof, your good to go and give a gift anyone would love.

Day 12 of 24 days of Christmas Project 13

Hello crafty ones, today I altered a Cd Movie case, got the case in the mail with a trial version of some sort of software, and being a nice sturdy case, I re-did it to put last years Christmas video's and am going to give a copy of it to my MIL. We do that every year for her and the rest of our brothers and sisters. SO I made a Tim Holtz distress tag added some embossing and heat embossed distress gold on the 25, added some ribbon a candy cane button on the ribbon all I need to do now is finish the disc, and added the poinsettia to the top....
Also added a photo of the snow storm that caused so much trouble, this was taken not even half way into the storm.

29 hours, no power, no heat, no water

Oh it is sooo good to be back among the rest of the world. I woke up saturday morning to house that was freezing and with no power, no heat and frozen water pipes.  Sometime during that evenings first snow storm/blizzard several trees came down and took out all the power lines for about 6000 people, being out of city limits and on the tail end of the problem we were last on the chain of wires and power outages. Had to burn candles to stay warm, we were pretty much helpless without power and were praying the pipes did not burst, as without power the electrical tape can nor do its job, and with it being about 20 below zero and no way to heat them. It was nerve wracking, I have a totally new respect and compassion for people who go weeks after storms, tornadoes, and hurricaines. I realize that being in sub-zero and roads that are not passable are a bit different, but lets face it we can all make anything work for a day or two. But people that go weeks and have no water supply, or sewer, or fresh foods available, I guess the moral of the story is I will not be so fast to turn the channel, and hopfully a bit quicker when the states ask for assistance. It was a real opener for me. At first I was just worried about me and getting back online and just petty stuff but as the hours stretched out and on my mind started thinking the way it should have been from the start. And no longer was it poor me, so I started tracking down some of my neighbors to make sure they were ok, or if they needed water or extra blankets. Then at 4:02 am today the power was returned. No pipes busted, the hot water did not burn out, and actually I was ale to bring back some camping skills from years ago, and we actually had fun for a bit and to take our minds off things. Apart from being stuck in snow drifts while taking the dogs out all survived with a bit more compassion. SO I did not get a project done yesterday, and am hoping to get 2 posted some time today. I actually reverted back to scrapbooking before all the gadgets, founf it fun and challenging, but to tell the truth am oh so happy to have power and all my toys operational again. Project 11 of 24 days with the Cricut and Stamps

Hello crafty ones, hope you are all having a great weekend. We are settling in for our very first blizzard of the season..Well one good thing about a blizzard is it perfect conditions for a day or 2 of hiding out in the craft room, or wrapped up with your favorite beverage and being a couch potato. I like to bake on the first storm of the year, and then be a couch potato. If I am still able after lounging and pigging out on goodies I then lock away to my room and play with things. Anyhow, todays project is an altered Clipboard, all done up for Christmas. Obviously not traditional colors, but none the less it's Christmas themed.. And who says it has to be traditional red/green. Project 10 of 24 days with the Cricut and Stamps

 So today we have an altered Cracker/cookie tin. These tins are filled with those yummy thinly rolled cookie with the chocolate in the middle, I love these with my coffee in the morning. I have so many of them lying around, I thought well why not make them up, and fill with cookies or candies and give as a gift to someone. So Candy Cane paper, large Poinsettia's glued to the top of the tin, a fancy label, and poof, you are ready to fill with a treat and give away. I am making a couple other themed cans as well, post when they are finished. Check back tomorrow for the next project.

Christmas project 9 of 24 days to Christmas

 Hello crafty ones, well todays post is here, a bit late bit none the less here. This is an old box I had for quite a while. SO I decided to make it into a gift box for my friend Laura, she is an amazing graphic artist and I wanted to send her something special. So inside the box is a sterling silver and Amethyst cross I hand made    ( another hobby of mine) I sell them at Horse shows and Rodeo's the cowboy cross to keep all the riders and horses safe. I apologize for the crappy pic, but here is the cross...

The box is covered in a vintage paper, and the cover I added a row lace and on top the lace edging I added a string of pearls. Those are a pill to tack down, but worth it in the end...I added the glittered snowflake, which you can get at wal-mart for a buck...Then added a ribbon

The tag is done with many colors of distress inks, then embossed with Cuttlebug folder, I then took an embossing marker and outlined certain parts of the tag then sprinkled with gold embossing powder. I beaded an old hat pin added a vintage Sants and attached to tag with ribbons and a vintage safety pin. I hope she likes her gift.

Christmas project 8 of 24 days to Christmas

SO this is Christmas project 8 of 24. This is another mini album, just a plain old circle album...

I used lots of pop dots and made it so the snow was multi layers and off the page..Not a fan of flat projects. Then pieced the elements and this is the end result.

 I used the stickles to brighten up the flakes, and as soon as the white primas come in this whole book will have them every where

Here I used the fastenator staples with happy holiday staples, and inking, also glimmer mist on the snowman, but again it does not show up.

 This page I added the ribbon pocket for journaling or photos, or whatever. And here I am waiting for my mini poinsettias to come in so I can finish these pages

This is an 8x8 album and I just re did the plain boring green cover. It is hard to see on here, but everything is 3-D on here, lots of pop dots used, you can not really see all the glimmer mist either. So I will have to doctor it up again.

Christmas project 6 of 24 days to Christmas

A friend of mine is a huge baker, and bakes the most amazingly mouth watering treats, and is first to say she's a messy baker, so I thought why not....A way to keep her recipes safe from spills in the kitchen. So I made her a a little stocking stuffer. A huge clothes pin to match her kitchen to read her recipes from....

Project 5 of 24 days of Christmas

Today I made a card, yes all my friends at SCS will be shocked to say the least!! Although I love card making and have such grand ideas for them, they never really turn out as I planned, so frustration sets in and I again put em away. I have a large amount of stamps and would really love to use them more(sounds like a challenge coming) Anyway, I ordered some new stamps from Cleardollarstamps for there black friday sale and my friend always has such awful days at work I thought this may cheer her up...I hope you like

Seeing that we are Cowgirls in every sense of the word, and Barrel Racers, this set was just too cute to pass up, the bottom says, Just grin and barrel it! she should get a good laugh out of this... Her horse is a beautiful dapple grey Quarter horse named Cowgirl, and Sandy's favorite colors to dress her and the horse for competition is either orange or Turq. Heres a pic of Cowgirl

Project 4 of 24 days with the Cricut and Stamps

 This is a cute little project, it is 2 small gift bags, glued end to end folded and made into a mini album/gift card holder...Perfect to add photos and to give to that someone special. Just remember to attach the gift card to the pull out card that goes in the center pocket, and embellish according.

project 3 of 24 days before Christmas

 Good morning crafty ones....today is a project useful for Christmas. A money envelope, designed in Design Studio, with George, Plantin and the Christmas cartridges..

 There is a cut out inside the envie just like you find down tow. I added an extra band on the outside to hold the envie closed, and added an embellishment to the bands. Just slip off the band, fill it up, put band on and its ready to give to that special someone...

Project 2 of 24 days with the Cricut and Stamps

So today is day 2 of the 24 days of projects with my Cricut, and stamping supplies..Today's project is another mini album, a mini album in the shape of Winter Mittens of course..Hope you like it. I still need to add ribbons and charms to the ring holding it all together, and give it one more coat of Gkimmer mist, but takes awhile to dry so I am posting anyway..lol

Supplies used are Sizzix die's, Spellbinders die's, inks, glimmer mist, prima flowers, silk leaves, cricut and misc items

One more mini album this week. 1 Project a day for 24 days

I am going to try something different this month, and post 1 project a day through Dec23, Starting Today So this is my project for today, the very first of many more to come.


 Just another mini album I made this week...A cute Christmas ornament. These do make the perfect gift. With the help of my Cricut and Sizzix it came together pretty well
