Box contents.....AMAZING

Hey Sisters, box update, before I opened the box i called the boys to let them know it arrived, they already knew that and must have been tracking it. The first thing I was told was, don't be mad, it's a gift from us to you, because they seem to think I deserve it. I promised not to be mad for very long, depending on what it was...
SO here we go, you ladies are NOT going to believe what is in these boxes!!! I started with the smallest box, it's a Netbook...have no idea what it is, what to do with it, or anything, so ok...I can learn I figure, I am smart that way.. The next box has a brand new hugs Laptop in it. I am excited, and my anxiety is grwoing A LOT! These are not cheap, and theres still 2 more boxes to go..SO the next box has a HUGE 22" flat screen monitor and brand new desktop computer system! ANd the final box has a new professional digital camera complete with case, 4 lenses, and more gadgets than I can count. My heart is pounding, my mind is spinning, and my anxiety is through the roof... This had to of been thousands of dollars! I can not keep all these items. They have to go back.  I   am having huge chest pains right now, and don't even know what to say.. I have called the boys and told them of my unhappiness, and that I want to return the items, and they said, "to bad" deal with it, they are yours, craft your heart out, and welcome to next century... I was instructed to leave the desktop in the box, and just play with the laptop and the Netbook, and if that made me smile, move onto the next box... I have to yet to do any of this. I am trying to justify all of this, and accept the fact that this is all sitting my living room. What would you ladies do in this situation? I mean it's not like they spent there pocket change. I do not want to hurt there feelings, but I feel so guilty, and so darn bad about this. I sincerely do not know what to do with this situation. I appreciate everything they have ever done for me, why can't they just be happy making a macaroni picture, or clay hand print?  Or better yet, just come for a visit. I wish I could contact Dell, and just have it returned. And pretend this never happened. I love my sons, and would never want to hurt them in anyway, but this is above and beyond what any child should be doing. I am truly very upset over this, and do not know what to do. Please anyone, advice is needed....

Your sons obviously wanted to do something to spoil you and you, in my opinion, should accept with gratitude (which you have plenty of :)) and realize they wouldn't have done this unless they wanted to... and allow them the joy of surprising you and doing something for you. DId you hound on them for ages to buy you something? NO and so its a gesture of love and gratitude for you and it gives them joy to do that.. (speaking as a daughter who likes to do things for her mom now and then for "no reason" just because I can) ...

think about that for awhile and try not to focus on the financial aspect. I have no idea what a netbook is :)

Of course I know this is easier for me to say than actually do but coming from a daughter point of view ( I only have furbabies no kids) i know that if I can do something for my Mom i dont want it to cause any guilt.. just pleasure.

Hugs to you!

Thats a good point, My parents passed very young, and I did not have the opportunity to do these things. And I get your point loud and clear. It has always been easier for me to give then get. All I ever asked of the boys, is to treat everyone they meet the same as they treat me. With respect, and open heart, and never to judge.Thank you scrappypug..

Honestly you have raised very good "boys" and if they want to spoil you, don't feel bad about it. I have and always will teach my children to appreciate what they are given and I will always do the same. Don't fell guilty. Instead think of how much they love you and what a great job you did raising them, since they obviously think so much of you! Sit back, relax and pull out that laptop. Show your boys how much you appreciate them by accepting the gifts and loving them too! Just my opinion.

Ronnie, it's a gift!!!! Obviously your sons love you very much and wanted to do something FOR YOU to show their appreciation for everything you have done for them.
accept their gift, say Thank you, and be very proud of the way you raised them. Job Well Done!!!!

Long story short. they won it in a lottery. Accept the gift graciously as you would want them to accept a gift you gave them. Respect their choices, stop being mad and send them all emails on your new equipment. Let them know that you'll be sending pics soon taken with new camera via netbook or laptop, or PC. Rejoice in your sons and be glad that they learned to give and not get, just as you taught them.

Ronnie, they have done a wonderful thing for you. Accept graciously! If they didn't want to or couldn't they wouldn't have. The justification is they love their Mother very much.

OMG Ronnie what lovely boys you have. I'm with all those other comments, all you need to do is be gracious and thank them and just keep on loving them. Have fun with your new toys my friend and be sure to tell all of us in blogdom and your boys what a marvellous time you're having and what you're using it all for.
